Me again :) I bought my Chevron as a 1" juvenile, and it's now about 5" afte 5+ years. Not too fast, but I also attribute this to the fact it was malnurished for 2 to 3 years (years when I neglected the tank). Since I started feeding, it's begun to look healthy and vibrant again, but is growing MUCH faster (more then 3x as fast as before). Note: I do not recommend you purposely malnurish your specimen. Not only do they not look good when underfed, but it's highly unethical for the poor fella.

Leo,
My man! you always reply to my post, if your were my tang i feed yah real well!

BTW he is currently sharing space with my Acanthurus Dussumieri (Palani) and is so far behave. All but my yellow tang which i threw him in my sump since they were playing sowrds with there diamond sowrd tails. I am planning to give him back to the fish store but i raised him so well and so fat.

My chevron is only 1" and was wondering what i can feed him since he is so small ??? my Palani and Yellow eats about anything and they have big mouths already, but not the little guy. Whats your input Leo.

I feed mine Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef, thawed out and broken apart into smaller peices. Actually, for about 6 months, it ate nothing but algae. What happened was since mine was so tiny, it got sucked into my overflow compartment where it spent the next half year grazing the algae in there. When I discovered it, it had more then doubled in size :)

I have had one for 4-years. It was about 2" when I got it and is about 5" now. I guess it has grown at about the same rate as Leonard's. Like Leonard there was a time when it didn't get the 6-8 feedings a day that it does now so it grew slower, but always appeared in good health. Mine is now in full adult color and thick as a tick so I guess the slow growth period didn't do much damage. Mine has always been in a 220 with a purple tang which it has outgrown.
