what do your corals look like at night?

how much do your corals close overnight? my soft corals; leathers, kenya tree, mushr., gsp, zooant. as well as my LPSs; red open brain, elagance, bubble. all seem to close up more than what seems to be normal. i was never really concerned about the softies, but the lps sorta worry me.

pictures or links to info would be awsome

could this be a problem with my nightime ph? i am going to be switching to a reverse refugium as soon as i can.

Never considered it to be a problem, but all my leathers, alveopora, shrooms, brains, ect all close up alot at night !!! I can take a shot for ya late tongiht and maybe post tommorow.

All my softies shrivel up, but my open brain, bubble, and other LPS corals get huge and put thier feeding tentacles out.

my brains also puts out feeding tentacles but they do shrink down quite a bit at night...

All my gsp, polyps, and leather closed up too. But as soon as morning light hits them, they open right back up.

Okay I got home and lights were still off... there was some ambient light but not much... Torch, leathers, brains, shrooms, alveopora, frogspawn all very closed in comparison to when under lighting...

BTW moved Cup, stick polyps, and dont have galaxea and Xenias anymore...

All my soft corals reduce upto 75% at night except for the open brain and bubble which as mentioned earlier put their feeding tenticles out. As long as they all reopen in the day under the normal lighting conditions I shouldn't worry. When doing night dives I have noticed the same in the natural habitat.

Seems normal to me. Most light loving corals close up at night for protection.

yeah i just get a little worried, especially with the lps. my elegance and open brain shrink al the way in at night. the brain sends out its sweepers. the other thing that worries me is that it seems to take over an hour for the corals to fully open, sometimes longer.

Reefguide; thanks for the pics, i love your spagetti leather, ive been trying to find a similar one.

i think once i get my refugium to revers lighting, it will help stabilize things
