Are they? Is a porcelain mostly a filter feeder? And what about those shrimp. Don't know the latin name, but it looks very similar to an anemone shrimp.
I seem to really like lots of small creatures in my tank.
Thanks,
Mark
Sexy shrimp are my favorite critters! Thor amboinensis (no books at the moment to check spelling, sorry) is a commensual shrimp. You can keep them with anemones (they are naturally found in condylactis anemones) in groups and even with other anemone shrimp. I've had them live in ricordea and even long tentacle plate corals. They're very cool, but easy targets for a renegade six line wrasse or other shrimp eating fish. They're really best in a 'fuge it you can't give them a condy in the main tank.
Porcelain crabs are fine in reefs and very attractive to watch as they fan the water with their filter claws. There have been occasions when anenome crabs have been mixed up with normal porcelain crabs and with disasterous results therefore don't place your crab on any anenome. If you have one let the crab make his way to it naturally, or else the stinging cells will kill it. They are filter feeders but I have placed brine shrimps etc for them to eat in addition.
A six line will go after them? Hmmm, is that a for sure thing, or is it one of those, "your flame angel will wipe out your corals...well, maybe not" kind of thing?
Thanks,
Mark
