If you're experiencing a problem with a leather after using some carbon, check to make sure it doesn't have any special "Removers" in the mix, to treat, Nitrate, phosphate, ammonia, or any other fancy additive. You just want to use straight "activated carbon" and nothing but. Some of the chemical's used to absorb the nastie's mentioned, can leach into the water and cause problems specifically for leather corals.
