nano reefers - how often do you run carbon?

According to the instructions included with my ecosystem 40 hang on, once a month without fail, or when see a yellowing of the water. Joey

once in a while. I have an Aquaclear 200 on my brackish tank. when I buy the carbon for it, I buy a three pack. one goes in the my bakpak.

I use to run it for a week and then without for two weeks, but recently I started running it constintly. I don't have a skimmer and only one small clown but I've noticed that my coral and fish seem much hapier with it going. When it is not being used everything closes up. ?I have no idea why? :?
