I want to know which macroalgae is good to use if you want to place it inside the tank. Right now I have a piddly little tidepool sump and cant place it in there. Which type of macro would you suggest to use in the tank and wont outgrow everything?..thanks

I don't know the scientific name, but spaghetti caulerpa may work if you can put it into a breeder tank in the corner. It stays clumped together, but grows fast and you probably don't want it loose in your tank. Hope this helps!

All of the caulerpa's could be a bad idea in my opinion. You will have to prune them back weekly in order to keep them in check. I have seen some tanks that look good with them, but not many. And if they get too dense, you will have possible issues with them going asexual and spoiling the tank.

I'd suggest sticking to halimeda's and other large, slow growing macro algaes (like shaving brush algae, etc). Don't try to use them as nutrient export as thats not usually useful in the main tank.
