i am coverting my 65 to a reef from a fo .... i use a 20 long (30" width) for a sump. I have a urchin skimmer tht has a small footprint and would like to set up a refugium with DSB and macroalgae. How much of the sump space do you think i should allocate for the refugium to be beneficial and still leave room for expansion of toys....

I think bigger is better, i have seen people with refuge's as big as 50% the size of there main tank. I think 10% is a good minimum size, I use a 10 gallon tank as my refuge for my 55 gal tank and its about 2/3rds full of water and culerpa is growing very well.
