This growth has started in my live sand over the last few days. IT is a readish color and seems to be increasing in the amount of sand it covers. THe only change to the tank in the last 4 weeks is new PC bulbs all the way around. All test are fine any help would be appreciated.

It's cyanobacteria. Growth can sometimes appear after you change bulbs due to different spectral outputs. It should go away in time if the only thing you changed was your bulbs. Cyano is very adaptive and opportunisitc, but they also tend to grow and crash in relatively short times. You may want to consider siphoning some of the slime algae away in the meanwhile (effective nutrient export).

Kingfish..
Exactly what PC's are you using? Are the new ones the same as the old? It seems obvious that the light change precipitated this cyano outbreak.. I'm just curious as to the details of the lighting change..

Thanks..

Good question! I never check what the old ones were but I know that they were from different manufacturers...... Could that really be it? If so I left them at the LFS for disposal. OPPS!

What now I have skimmed some of it off and got a few sand gobeys to see if they might clean it up. Also I check my water quality. Everything is good even took it to the LFS for a check and she said "You have perfect water" well obviously not look at the pic!
