I had to redesign my plumbing a bit after I discovered that the LifeReef sump wasn't big enough for my system. So, I bought a 75g AGA to use as a secondary sump. Here's how the plumbing is going to work in the basement:
The water is going to drain into the LifeReef sump (to the left of the refugium) to which the skimmer is attached. From there, the water is going to drain down (drilled a hole in the table) into the 75g sump.
I figured that when the power to the pump goes out, the sump on the bottom should be able to handle approximately 15g of back siphon. Based on the formula (LxHxW/231), I figured that the sump can only be filled 15" high (47x17.375x15/231=53g). Now to the question part:
If the water is going to drain into the 75g on the left side, how should I set up the baffles? How many baffles should I use and what should the height of the baffles be? TIA

The more baffles, the less bubbles get back into your tank. A set of 4 baffles, though, should be plenty. Too many baffles and it maybe hard to service the sump.

I'd arrange the baffles like the following diagram. It's worked well for me.
