Can I get too much calcium in my tank?

Still learning how my procal reactor works, turned off the pump and had backflow go into my sump

Backflow was really cloudy with calcium (and hence, my tank is pretty cloudy now).

When it was running I had no cloudiness issue and had the right amount going in there. I then turned it off when I was fiddling with my co2 tank and got the backflow (about 5 minutes worth).

Any problems with this?

Thanks

Eric

This is not bad. You are going to want to run the reactor without the co2 and with the effluent fully open for about 20 min to get all the air out. This will make your water cloudy for a couple hours. Once you have done this you will need to set your co2.Before doing this set your effluent to around 50ml per min. Set the guage that tells the pressure going to the bubble counter at 10lb. After this set your bubble rate at about a burst per every three seconds. Let it run for a few hours and then test the effluent ph. It should be in the range of 6.6 to 7 no lower than 6.5. Monitor the tank ph and alk for the next couple of weeks adjusting as needed. To lower ph of effluent increase c02. To raise alk increase effluent and then adjust c02 so the effluent is in the right ph range. Be patient adjustments take time!!
