Is this bulb OK to use? Pic

I broke the end of this bulb off trying to install it.

IS it ok to run this?

It is a HQI bulb, right?

If the inner bulb is still OK, it may still work.... can't really see it in the second photo...:?

Make sure the glass shield is on properly, and turn it on... worst thing that can happen is that you have clean the hood when the bulb goes kaboo... obviously don't do it when the hood is on the top of your tank.

The only problem is that even if it lights up and runs fine, you never know if subsequent shock/high temp. to the hood can cause it to fail catastraphically.

I would not try to use it. There have been fire issues before with contacts and insulation in HQI pendants. Best to be safe with bulbs that generate that degree of heat.

Found a bulb, Overnight shipping is brutal.

Is there a trick to installing these bulbs? It was really hard to install it.
