I think I have had almost every marine pest there is besides flatworms, so I might as well get some to make it complete!
I swear, every time I think things have settled down, something else comes up. I have fought and won the war against aptasia, cyano, dino, and brown algae...I am currently fighting a very nasty explosion of bryopsis, combined with a ton of hair algae that blew up all over my tank in the past few weeks. To top it all off, my wife's clams have been dropping like flies, and we figured out that they are infested with pyramid snails. We are trying to save the large Derasa, and so far we have stabilized the health of the clams...
The couple of valonia bubbles detected on one rock a month ago has now turned into hundreds scattered in every nook-and-cranny on the reef. No matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to remove all the bubbles without breaking a few...
My corals are all doing very well, and some are even spreading like a plague. Is it normal for Tubipora musica (pipe organ) to take over every square inch of a tank??? I thought it was a tough coral to keep....I could be confused...
Anyway, sorry for the rant...I just get tired of the merry-go-round of fighting nuisances and the LFS benefitting from these plagues....I can't remember the last time I bought something "pretty" for the tank...(although the lettuce nudibranch it kinda neat looking).
sigh....
