Ok here lately I have been seeing alot of SCWD and closed loop could someone clue me into what this is?

SCWD is a alternating current device that uses little gears and props to alternate between two openings. it is like a tee that the is piped with one inlet and two outlets.

people are pumpong water out of their sytwm and through one of these devices to create an increased, more random flow.

Ok that looks cool. But could I rig this to pickup the water in the sump? I could cut back on the main pump (Mag 18) so I don't overrun the overflows. And is that a Mag 6.5 on there??

i don't know what pump that is... i googled it.

to answer you question, yes you could put a pump in the sump and return it to the tank that way.

Where do I find a unit like that? I am assuming it is water driven.
