I've had a Finespotted Fairy Wrasse in my tank for about 3 months now and it is a very curious and friendly fish always coming to check out my fingers for food when they are in the tank, he has gotten along with everyone in the tank, with the exception of some Pep shrimp i had. :(

I recently got a Lunar Wrasse and after QT added him to the tank at night, and for about an hour i watched him check out the entire tank and was as happy as larry, until i came down the next morning and my fairy wrasse was bugging the crap out of the bigger lunar, the lunar was being chased all over the tank and was constantly doing the submissive thing dogs do with a dominant animal and roll over with legs in the air. (minus the legs of course) :)

Now i did research these fish before obtaining them, did i miss something big on the incompatability front, or have i just got a very bossy fairy wrasse, theres no visible damage to the lunar but i would imagine his nerves are shot to hell, no-one else bothers him and he's a good 1 1/2" bigger than the fairy.

Did i miss something?
They have been together for about 2 weeks now
Anyone else have this prob

that probably won't last to much longer. Once the lunarre gets a little more settled in your fairy wrasse might be in for some big trouble. Lunares are very tough fish. They definetaly like to battle. So I would keep a close eye on your fairy.

Wow, I am really suprised a fairy wrasse is harassing a lunare wrasse. I would really suspect it to be the other way around. I am just shocked actually.

I would not worry about the lunare, he is a tough cookie. I am willing to bet the tables will turn soon.

(your sure you have a Thalassoma lunare right? Just checking)

After the research i did i thought it may have been the other way around also, it's definitely a Thalassoma lunare.

I've put up egg crate round the top of my tank like a fence to stop these buggers from carpet surfing if they start jumping.

i'll give it a couple more days and if no improvement, try and catch one of them and put him in my fuge until my FOWLR is ready

Thanx all

Anton :)
