count down to demise of great barrier reef?

any body read anything similiar to this? is this true or is it simply hype?
terrifying to think considering i snorkle their every second year. its like swimming through a rainbow. truly one an example of heaven on earth!

This "the end is near" stuff has been pouring out from scientists for years..the time of the coral reefs demise is predicted from anywhere from the next decade to within the next 100 years....

With effort and good litigation and better enforcement none of these predictions will come true....mother nature too has a funny way of surprising everyone...and note that we (the human species) might not be on the winning side of her....

The coral reefs of the world have been bleaching and growing back for millions of years. They are going to continue to go through that cycle regardless of what we do.

The fact is that we are really not concerned about the reefs, or any other enviromental situation for that matter. What we are concerned about is ourselves and what we would do without these natural wonders.

As a famous comedian once said, mother earth will be fine, we'll be long gone, but mother earth will keep on trucking.

Pretty soon there will be a resounding cry from the Austrailians.

"now where did i put those Mangroves"

a sad but certain event, and all because 'the bush is too scary'

And besides, the 'great barrier reef' title went to Indonesia a long time ago.
