Just wondering if anyone out there have clams but use the two part calcium/alkalinity liquid additives instead of a calcium reactor et all..

All of my Croceas were raised on Kent A/B 2-part additives. To expand on dupaboy's comment, 2-part additives are probably best suited for tanks that are 75g or lower. The cost of trying to maintain cal/alk in a large tank this way is just too expensive. For large systems, you'll definitely want a calcium reactor.
nice... good to know people are able to keep it well with two parts additives.. i understand two parts can be expensive.. and most would use a calcium reactore with larger tanks.. but i would even use the homemade two part additive that dr randy holmes-farley has suggested... using dow flakes/baking soda... cheap!

I'm curious why a few folks are concerned with the expense of the two part additives. I just bought two gallons (one gal. of each part--Kent) for $40 and that includes shipping. That should sure last awhile and probably is the least expensive thing I have bought for my tank in awhile.
costs really shouldn't be an issue. Dr holmes-farley has documented a diy. the calicum part is calcium chloride (dow flake) and costs $15-25 for a 50 pound bag. Baking soda is the other part.
I guess the two part additiives do work, as all the posters mentioned.
I have used two part additives with a clam in a 55g tank and it worked great. You could see white new shell growing all the time.
Reefer2, if you have a large tank with a good deal of calcium loving critters, often you end up have to add alot of two part additive to keep your calcium in proper range. That is why people often move to having a Ca reactor, as they add more and more stony corals and clams.
