I like the regular 75's, especially the RR ones. I had a 75 set up for most of my reefkeeping experience. However, if you go with dual 400W halide pendants, then it doesn't really matter. Either one is easy to light.
I don't know why, but I've never been a fan of bowfront tanks...
Here's a shot of my 75 when it was set up (dual 175W halides) :
I just went through the same thing. I was deciding on the 75 vs 72 BF. It really was an easy decision once I viewed a stocked 72 BF vs a 75. You get a larger viewing area with the BF. I have had my tank up and running now for about 3 months and I am very pleased. It also was a RR.
I am going to try and post some pics this weekend!
My first tank was a non-drilled 72 gallon. Almost two years after an upgrade I still have to listen to people say "I really liked that curved one you had".
That being said, Louey's point about the hood is well taken. If you can get around that, I like the bow.
Can you share with me how you are lighting ( or did light) your BF? I have a 37G tank using a PC, USA Orbit w/ moonlight, I love the light but your not supposed to use it beneath a canopy. I thought that I could possibly get away with cutting holes on either end of the oceanic cap for the fans if I were to buy a BF. I really love those lights.
Thanks, Bill
I think the 72 bowfront is a really slick looking tank. The depth of the tank in the center leaves a ton of space for creative aquascaping. I vote for bowfront!
