I just bought a compact fluorescent fixture. It came with a 55 watt GE 9325k bulb, and I also bought a 55 watt 50/50 (10000k and Actinic blue) Coralife bulb.

There's obviously a difference in appearance, but is there any nutritional/health difference?

Also, would you keep the light on about 12 hours per day, like a regular bulb?

Live rock, live sand, fish (tang, flame angel, basslets), shrimp, algae critters, soft corals (mushrooms, polyps, leathers, dusters).

Thanks!

you need to go to GE's website and look up that Part number for that bulb and check its Kelvin rating...if its under 6500K i wouldnt use it for a main tank unless that is its kelvin rating 9325k? Which sounds awfully odd? It might be more beneficial to leave less intense lighting on longer, but im not sure if it makes too much of a difference with photosynthesis within the zooxanthalae algae in corals..? Honestly Id go with the 50/50 you bought..its designed for reef aquariums...
