Mag 9.5 vs Gen-X 850

My 3/4 seaswirl on a closed loop didn't seem to be doing much, even though the Mag is listed at the optimum amount of water the SS can handle. On a whim, I bought the Gen-X. Hello! Seems like twice as much water. I think there are some liberties taken with these gph numbers. To be fair, I did clean the corraline out of the tube when I changed pumps.

On the down side, the mag was dead silent, the Gen-x fan is way loud.

The funny part is your Gen-X is rated at 65 watts and the Mag 9.5 is rated at 93 watts. If the power draw ratings are accurate, it's pulling over 40% more power and producing less flow!

What kind of head are you running it at? I have a mag 9.5 on a 1/2 seaswirl but its at 6' of head.
