:?: :?: :?:

What flow rate do you have on that RO?? - I have a 100 gpd unit.. - MASSIVE overkill for me, considering all I have is a 10 and a 12 right now..

Sounds like you're gonna be runnin the thing ragged just keeping up with evap!

Yeah. I spent the extra $20 or so to get the 100gpd. I figured my time was worth that over the course of owning the filter.

It is a 100 GPD day unit but it sure isnt seeming that way. I heard that cold weather slows the flow rate, and it is getting pretty cold here. That or im just not doing something right.

Thanks,
Shane

It took me 3 weeks to fill my new refugium. After the 1st week I bought a 2nd 100gpd RO unit and it was in for the last few days of filling.

Have you checked the pressure in your source water line? I had problems with my RO unit because city water here has weak pressure.

Tap water will fill the tank a lot faster!:P

Yeah, put a pump in the septic tank will fill that up even fast than garden hose... beside, the sewage is going out to the ocean eventually, so this is like imitating the Nature as close as possible.... ;)

How much RO are you outputting per day? Sounds like you're saying 10 gallons of of a 100 gpd which isn't right.

Cripes, I'd check and make sure the unit is adjusted correctly and not making too much wastewater. I know on my unit there is an adjustment for that but can't remember how off the top of my head.

I just took new measurements and re-calced the math. Now it is telling me about 14 days. The water has to raise in the tank about 23". It is filling up about 1.625" in 24 hours. If you divide 23" by 1.625" you get 14.15 days. It has been running for 2 days already so I have 12 days left.

My water pressure is great so I don’t think that is a problem. I am enclosing a pic of my unit (my RO/DI unit). Do I need to use all three stages on top of this thing or can I drop one or two of them for the initial fill up? This sucks because I am selling the house that my 46 is set up in and I need to move its contents to the 120 at the new place, but the tank won’t be full for a while. This is just the tank I am filing I still have to fill the sump as well (20 Gallons) I have the patience of a three year old in a toy store.

Thanks,
Shane

Something is wrong here, DOGMAI. There are many possibility for the slow production. Instead of telling you to check the post filter water pressure, and wrong plumbing connection or water flow, I would suggest you go get some RO water from water store or Walmart, and get you new tank all filled up. You can deal with this issue when you get it hook up to your new house. This is not the right time for trouble shooting.

I hooked up my 6 stage RO/DI 100GPD unit last night and let it run for about an hour and a half. It only put out about 2 gallons. I dont even have to do the math to know that does not equal 100 gallons per day. Am i doing something wrong. The good water coming out is barley a trickle.

Thanks,
Shane

Sounds like the filter is getting worse and worse... :? Again, get the tank filled up by buying water, and worry about it later.

I thought about that but it kinda defeats the purpose of buying the RO/DI. I have used the store bought RO water and I feel it is not real RO water. I could buy it from wally world but that is some $$$ that I dont have at the moment. I guess I will just have to stick it out.

Thanks,
Shane

Use a powerhead to recirculate the RO water in the tank (before adding anything to the water, and make sure the tank is sparkling clean) thru the DI cartridge if you have any doubt as to the quality of the RO water...I am sure it will kill the cartidge pretty quick, but may be worth it... do you have a TDS meter to test the store-brought RO water?

Hummm really? :D

Hopefully your ro/di unit is functioning correctly. I would hate to do all that work only to have water that still had all the stuff in it your tank needs. Then you wouldn't get all the fun of adding that stuff back in.

I dont have a TDS meter but should prolly get one. I did add a powerhead to the tank last night to keep the water moving. I figured by the time the tank fills all the way up the water will be bad if its not moving. I wish I knew if I had a problem or if this is just the speed it runs. I am going to have to get a trash can for sure to stock up on top off water with the speed that this thing runs. I dont think it could keep up with evaporation.

Thanks,
Shane
