Planning a 110g tall and hope to use a 55 for sump divided into three sections (skimmer, fuge, return). The sump will be supplied by two overflow boxes, each with 1" drilled out the back of the tank and down to the basement, one to the fuge side and one to the skimmer side with return in the middle. It's 8' to the bottom of the 2x8 floor joist and the sump will sit pretty much directly under the display tank, so the return will be around 10' by the time I go up and loop over the top of the tanks. I will probably use a mag 9.5 on the skimmer and was thinking about mag 18 or so for return. Also plan to have a closed loop through a scwd with an old quiet one external pump (900gph). Looking for other recomendations for return pump. Is mag 18 strong enough? I drilled the display tank, so if needed, I could drill the 55 and use external. shouldl I use a some type of spray bar for return? Will I need additional flow besides the return and closed loop?
