I only have second hand info. I've heard of people trying it with undesireable results. Apparently photosynthetic corals require a down time or they don't grow.
Your Actinic puts out as much light as any other bulb so it needs to be shut down during the dark period as well.

yeah thats what i thought, my problem is that my ph drops significantly at night if i turn all of the lights off, and when i turn them back on in the morning my fish dont really look to hot. theyre usually fine a couple hours after the lights come back on though. this only happens if i turn all of the lights off. If i leave on the actnic my fish are fine in the morning.
i know that a fuge would probobly correct the ph drop at night, but until i get one i have to figure out wheter leaving the actnic on at night is o.k for photosynthetic inverts.
