I'm going to need to lightly buff some scratches out of a 120 tank I have sitting in the basement, and I'm currently just testing on scrap pieces of acrylic to try to get the right "formula" :)

So far I only have the stuff sitting around the house as materials, basically I dont want to buy anything that'll be useless. I have some 220 grit paper, and some fine polishing paper that my grandfather used to use with metal. Now I tried the polishing paper and while it did get a scratch out nicely it left the entire area really hazy (that seemed to go away when I wet it.. ) so I feel I might be on the right track, just maybe need an even finer paper?

Anyways any help would be appreciative.

Check out my forum and see if you can dig up some old thread. In a nut shell, you need to get some micromesh sandpaper. I used it, and it work like a charm... with some elbow grease.

Ahh mucho nachos muchacho. Read some of the articles found the micromesh stuff is needed, wish I knew what my polishing paper grit is. Guess I'll take a trip down to homedepot to see if they have any of these things. If not I found a website with a kit.
