:) ...and came home with a new 125 gallon tank. I'm blaming my S/O for talking me into this one, it was entirely his idea. It's a 125 all glass, with dual durso overflows. The footprint is 48" long by 24" wide by 24" high which is a nice size for the living room.

My existing skimmer and lights and rock from the 72 will go into it nicely, and I'll be selling the 72gal bowfront. Got saltwater aging and have things set up to move the contents tomorrow.

Here's some pics of it empty. The sump is an AG megaflow, which has a nice design to it where the dual overflow is plumbed to PVC pipes which will discharge under water. It should be a lot quieter than my older setup. The sump has room for a macro refugium which I have wanted.

I've got 250 lbs of "Old Castle" sand in it already, soaking to get some of the kack out of it and I've got my my old vortrex filter standing by to help clear the water.

The plan is to break everything down into buckets and containers, taking the existing sandbed out and shifting it to the new tank. I'll post progress pics and hopefully things will go smoothly.

and you should replace that outlet with a GFCI before you fill the tank.

You are right as usual Pit! The tag on the tank says "125", but the paperwork from the LFS says "120". It's a bit late now, but I'm going to complain to the LFS anyway.

8O great idea on the GFI, but a few hours late . Actually, it's pretty easy to get to and I have a GFI unit we were going to use in a bathroom remodel. Think I'll change that out before we go on with filling it tomorrow.

Okay, everything is transferred over but I ran into a complication. The male half of pair of Cardinals was mouthbrooding babies. When I netted him out of the tank and into the transfer bucket he spit them out. They are fully formed and free swimming.

I PM'd Guy who raises Cardinals. He advised that the male would not take them back in so I moved 20 or so into my nano (my buildoff entry). Dad apparently didn't spit them all out because we also have 6-10 in the new tank where I'm sure they'll get eaten soon.

Earlier this week I removed the tube anemone which was in the nano as it was just too dang big and decidly uphappy. So the only stinging thing in that tank was the sun coral which I moved today into the main display. (mental note to self, need to update nano thread) I'll probably drop out of the buildoff as I'd rather try and rear the fry. That nano is teeming with pods, and Guy has suggested pulverized cyclopeeze which I have and baby brine shrimp as food which I will start a culture today.

The 120 is cloudy, but when it clears I'll post more pics. Here's a lucky shot of Dad and some of the babies.
