Turboflotor 1000 Skimmer...Is this a decent Skimmer????

Guys... I am looking to purchase a TurboFlotor 100 skimmer. Is this a worth while skimmer? Or does it stink!?

If so what model Mage Drive pump would you recommend, 500, 700?

I use the TF multi 100 on my 40 breeder. I have had it for years and it is a good skimmer. New it comes wiht the pump, if you need one the replacement is sold at MD and PA. It is a ocean runner needle wheel.

Can I use a Mag Drive pump with it? Say a Mag 5, or Mag 7?

So the Ocean Runner Pump that is supplied with the unit uses a needle wheel to induce bubbles?

Yes it sucks air through airline tube which is pulled into the pump and through the impeller (needle wheel) and this chops the bubbles into a fine mist. I have used this skimmer on a lot of different tanks and would say it tops out at about 60-75 gal. Bigger then that look for a different skimmer.

The turbo flotor skimmers are a great product and i have used them all! And they work without some of the fancy bells and whistles now found on many skimmers.

Can I run a Turboflotor with a little giant pump?

I have a little giant pump that I think i would like to utilize on a skimmer any suggestions?

Again you would have to find a way to induce the bubbles at the right size, a venturi would work.
