Golden Pygmy Angel
Centropyge aurantius

never seen them in person until today...a pet store got 3 in and was wondering if anybody has owned/had good success with them. I researched them and the info says that they are not rare in the wild but are rare in the hobby....also very secretive fish that like to hide alot. The store is alittle sketchy though (petland) and I am very weary of their fish quality. they just got em in today so I dunno if or when they will eat. The good news is this....only 69 bucks. which is a really good deal for this type of angel. lemme know what you guys think and any personal info on these species would be well appreciated.
Thanks

Watch it eat before you buy it. I suspect a lot of these are caught with chemicals. I've had two that completely refused any type of food offered and died shortly thereafter. Your mileage may vary.

From what I understand, the brightly colored versions aren't nearly as reclusive and eat readily. The darker, rusty colored ones are more difficult.

I kept one in my sons tank for several months before taking it down and trading him in. He would take some prepared foods, but mostly fed on live sponge.
