Hello all! I'm a lurker, but thought I would share my Excitement. Ive recently purchsed my first 'frags'. They were quite cheap, but they are precious to me. They were described to me as 'Zoos'. I was told by my New LFS, they would be good in middle station of my tank, did not need any type of specific food, other than good water Quality, and some tank maturity. Please, can anyone tell me thier experiences with this type of inhabitant? When will it open? The middle has given me a beautiful peek, but soon went back in.

My Tank specs are as follow...
1. Choc Chip SF
1. Lawnmower Blennie
9. Hermit crabs
1. Cerith Snail
1. Mexican Turbo Snail
1. Humongus Aiptasia

20 g tall
12lbs of live rock
2" livesand bed
Whisper 30 filter with carbon (hangs on the back)
Lee in tank Skimmer, skimming nicely
One bifurcated powerhead, powering nicely.
65x2 PC light 10KK. Lunar led.
Typical heater.

A quick addition, I'm dosing with a bit of calcium, and everybody get a cube of Formula 2 from Ocean Nutrition, with Garlic.

Congrats. Those are zoanthid polyps. They come in a wide assortment of species, colors, and shapes. Sometimes they take a few days (even weeks) to open up, but they are generally hardy and grow fast. They have no special requirements. Make sure you have lots of room in the tank for them to expand around.

I'd remove the Chocolate Chip Starfish. These starfish are not truly reef safe and have been reported to eat corals, anemones, and polyps.

Thanks Len! That info makes me really happy, except for of course, the starfish part. I'm hoping for the best, as this tank really is my favroite thing.

They'll do best with good light and flow, though they'll also do fairly well with NO fluorescents and minimal flow. What you have is more than enough.

Thanks for the response, Burntom. Great news I think I went with a good choice for beginner.

PS I LOVE my new LFS, they are Aquarium, and aquascaping only, and they really are hands on with me...I'm a doof. :D

Thank you, ChrisPrusha! I actually have seen him get a little skinny over the last three-five days, and had switched his food, from frozen Brine, to Formula two, with Garlic. He acts great, though, and is picking away at the MULTITUDE of Algae on the rocks and the walls.
