Just got my cube and filled it with tap water for a test run....it took exactly 9 gallons to fill it to the top, and that is without bio balls or anything in the tank but water.

I'm wondering if they took the outside dimensions of the nano cube, including the hood and all, and then took the internal area of THAT cube and it came to 12 gallons. :?

Wow, if so, that's pretty lame.
