I am going to get a CBB today after work, and a few peppermint shrimps to help control a growing aptasia problem.

From all I have read, they are on the delicate side of keeping them.

Wondering if anyone has any experience/input for a greater success in keeping it.

Tank is 60 hex, have assorted softie corals, 1 gorgonian stick, all parameters are perfect (alk, calc, mag, trates, ph, SG, etc...)
Inhabitants are yellow tang (dont get mad....he is very happy and healthy for 2 yrs), 2 striped damsel (peaceful, believe it or not) 1 false perc clown, 1 blue chromis, 1 yellow tail damsel, and asst inverts.

Any input on diet especially.

Thanks!

Depends if the yellow tang accepts the CBB.
I have tried a few in my 180 but they do nip coral and ended up having to trap and remove the CBBs.
The tang will probably tear his butt up, especially in a 60.

Where are ya going? Bob's place is closed on Mondays. ;)

Yea, just called there and spoke to him...I misunderstood him on saturday. He said he was getting them in on Monday (today), but didn't know it was actually tomorrow when I can pick them up.
He is putting one aside for me.

His new store will be opening soon too, that should be awesome!

Thanks for the input...I was thinking of the tang, but he seems really docile, and is well fed with nori, frozen algae cubes and mysis. I leave a rolled leaf of nori in a plastic mesh thing for him to graze on.

As far as territory, I plan on adding another chunk of LR or two at the same time to create a bit more "cave" structures. As it is, I have a huge amount of LR, going now almost to the surface. Hopefully, that will be enough to give them each a land to call their own.

The coral thing, I know, it's a gamble with them. I have heard both sides about it. I plan on keeping some live food for the CBB, or feeding smaller amounts more often to the tank.

Have you tried Joe's Juice? I just used it this weekend, I had a serious infestion, it really takes care of the problem, the anemones shrink away to nothing in a matter of minutes. I was amazed at how well it worked. Everything else seems to be fine.

I've actually tried the CCB before. The problem was that I couldn't get the guy to eat! He eventually died :( I've never ever ever had that problem with a fish... only the CCB. Also, they are known to dine on zoas and clams, so careful what you have in there with him!

Been doing the joes juice forever. Great product if you have limited rockwork, or can get every single aptasia. I am tired of doing it once a month, and many of the aptasi is on the back rockwork, or under rock a bit, or unreachable places. So it just re-spreads.
Cant pull rock out, since it is piled very high, centrally in the tank, and al is more or less epoxied in place.
