Well I guess that was too easy. Yes, Duncanopsammia axifuga. Sweet looking coral! What have you been feeding it John? About how fast does it add new polyps for you?
Wow, that's a sweet coral. How well do they do in captivity? Are they similar to other LPS as far as light and feeding requirements? A nice colony of those would make a great substitute for an anemone I'd think.
I feed them mysis & brine. I have had the two frags since ?September. One initially had 2 polyps and the other one. Somehow the 2 polpy one got knocked over (while I was gone for several days of course) and has taken a long time getting back to being fully covered. Each frag now has two large polyps and 2 tiny polyps. Most of the growth seems to have happened in the last couple of months - since I moved them in to a low flow sump lit by one 250 MH. The coral is hardy and resiliant. Seems to like lower light and lower current, and grows best when fed. Phishybusiness has them every now and then.
