PostPosted: Fri Nov 28, 2003 9:17 am Post subject: My theory on Quarantine

I have just finished the first stage in stocking my 55 gallon corner bowfront.

I now have:

3 Carpenter Flasher Wrasses
1 Bicolor Blenny
3 Chalk Bass

Well, I think I am losing another Chalk bass. The Carpenter Flasher Wrasses disappeared over the first year one at a time with no signs of sickness at all.

Currently I have 2 Chalk bass
1 Bicolor blenny
1 longnosed hawkfish
and 1 clownfish (not sure if its a false or true percula)

I added the clownfish 2 days ago, it was something I had been thinking about getting for a while, and the LFS had tank raised ORA ones so I bought one. It ate as soon as it got in my tank. There were no fights that I could see or anything although the clownfish is everywhere...

Yesterday the smaller of the two remaining chalk bass was laying on the bottom breathing heavily.

Today I don't see him at all.

Don't you just hate getting attached to a silly fish???

By the way, this is the longest I have kept a fish alive since I have been doing this. I can't belive its been 2 and a half years already. When I started they were dropping like flies

Its definitely gone. I looked this afternoon carefully at all the fish I have and the chalk bass and the long nosed hawkfish seem skinny to me.

I think I am going to up the feedings and to hell with the algae....
