For about the last 6 months I have been trying to psych myself up to catch my tangs to move them to another aquarium while I re-do my aiptasia hell-hole. The receiving aquarium is now lush with grape caulerpa, their favorite meal, and all I have to do is catch them and move them. They have been in their current home for about 7 years. I've been looking forward to doing this like a stage 4B metastatic brain tumor.
So today I decided to try feeding them out of a fish net. Long story short -- I netted my purple tang with almost no problem. The blue tang got the hint though, so I think catching this guy is going to be more of an effort.
Are there any good tricks to catching fish without ripping a whole tank apart? (I am going to rip this one apart anyway, but if I can do it in small stages, it will make my life easier.)
