i remember reading there are a few types of clear glass. i know starphire, what is the name of the other glass that are designed to be clearer then normal glass?
There's also diamante glass, which is completely void of iron. Needless to say, it's very expensive, but is also brittle. IIRC, 1/2" thickness (maybe even 3/4") is the minimum recommended for aquarium use.
All 'clear' glass is a kind of low-iron glass. Different brands may have slightly different properties. Brands of low-iron glass that I have heard of are starphire, diamante, and opti-white.
