The cubicals are on 6" centers. They have 1/4" slots between them. My pet fireworm moves freely about in them.

I have the same thing. When all stretched out he's over a foot. He too has become more of a pet as well though I would love to find a home for it.

Have you ever watched it eat? I will hold food up against the front so I can watch it eat. The way the mouth moves reminds me of that sand worm from Beetlejuice. I have to get a movie of it one day.

Where did you find yours? I found mine cruising across a 180 looking for it's next ricordea polyp. I believe it was eating them.

He was in a tank we sell corals out of. He was living in a huge piece of liverock. I suspect he was in the tank several years before we noticed him. No telling how many dollars worth of coral it ate. It can't do much damage where it is now, so we keep it for show and tell.

Yeah I have mine only with inverts. He's in a 6 foot tank seperated into 6 equal sections. He moves about as he sees fit. I wonder if I would be able to keep him in a fish only with some triggers. I wonder who I'd have to worry about more. The worm bother the fish or the other way around.

I am sure mine was in my tank for quite some time as well. I can already see some bruisers for worms now...hope I don't have this ones parents still cruising around.

Ah, erm that's nice. I know those things are beneficial sometimes, but they really creep me out.

I haven't put any live rock in my tank for 5 years. During the power outages in the Bay Area this year, while I was running a generator and no lights, I found out that I had a monster like that living in my tank. Quiet a shock to see him... and since the lights have been on, I haven't seen him again despite a few sneeks round the tank with a flashlight.
