Hi, I'm french and I am going to spend a week in New York in September and I would like to know if anyone knows a good shop in Manhattan which merits a detour.
if you can drive out to new jersey, absolutely fish is a wonderful store. they have many interesting and rare stuff. it is 30 minutes away though but if you can take the trip i recommend it. www.absolutelyfish.com
I forgot: you might want to do a search in www.aquariumstorefinder.org . Type in the zip code 10026. There doesn't seem to be too many LFS in the area.
Bienvenue a RDO, et aux Etats-Unis! Je vous souhait un bon voyage. Malheureusement, je n'ai aucun information pour vous, j'habite en Georgia, mais j'espere que vous allez trouver des magazins interressants.
I'm actually probably going to be in NYC also for labor day but discarded the thought of visiting a LFS because of the fact I've never been to NY and I only have three days and no liquids on planes anymore.
No NY for me anymore until february, when me and the girlfriend go up to long island for a wedding. I will get back to you guys when it gets closer to then to check some stores out!

I live in Northern NJ. I would agree with the above. It's a great place to browse. They have a good selection of corals, salt, and freshwater fish. Their prices are outrageous though. Dry goods pricing is through the roof there...I usually go on line.
