Some causes is that occasionally when the power goes out or you unplug them they sometimes are touchy for actually starting back up, not a huge problem IMO. They're basically a much cheaper Tunze, let me emphasis the MUCH. Are they as reliable? Not really, are they good enough? Yeah.

I have a sieo 620 on my 30G. Every 15 minutes when the wave maker turns it back on it chatters for about one second. I can only guess how long it will last. For this size of tank I will just put a maxijet 1200 in when it goes out.

You put a Seio on a wavemaker?
Why not? People put maxi jets, tunzes and everything elso on them. Why not a seio?

Well for one the company that makes them specifically says you should NOT put them on a wavemaker :)

That very well could be that chatter chatter you're hearing every 15 minutes.

I have a seio 1000. It is OK, no issues yet. I am saving to replace it with a stream 6200.

Even Tunze has wavemaker issues. Not all their pumps are for Wavemakers. They make that pretty clear... just check out the 6080.

Thats why they make their own controllers for the Streams that CAN be controlled.

I have both and much prefer the streams. Just a better pump all around.
