Yes, Steve Irwin " The corcodile Hunter" died due to a stingray. He was filming a documentary at THE GREAT BARRIER REEF, Batt reef to be exact and came over a stingray and it spooked him and the poisonous barb on the tail went thru his heart. The movie he was filming was called OCEAN'S DEADLIEST. well just thought id pay a little tribute and maybe some of you will also.. CRIKEY!!!!! DID YOU SEE THAT CROC

Wow, that really sucks.
Besides Cousteau and Marlin Perkins and Jim, I think he was probably one of the first television personalities to bring Dangerous wildlife into our livingrooms. There are a lot of things I would never have seen if it had not been for him. I felt like a little kid every time I watched his original shows.
I think that he became too commercialized lately. I liked his first shows when he seemed more naive to the whole HollyWood scene.

Some people think that his style of putting himself in perceived danger while handling animals was wreckless. I think anyone who goes out of their way to be around dangerous animals has to have a screw loose somewhere though... I know he'll be missed in my house anyway...

Crikey! Did you see soize of that Boomy (boomslang) ?!!

I never thought a ray would have got him though. I was waiting for one of those crocs to rip his head off on live TV. I still think he should have been wearing his sun screen to protect him from the rays. RIP :D
