I'm in the lengthy process of setting up my Korallin 1502 reactor. I just got through connecting the Tom Aqua lifter pump intake to the prefilter and my sump. The output goes to the reactor. What I see is the Aqua lifter pulsing and bringing in air. By pulsing I mean go on, then spit water and air, stop, cycle over again. Does anyone else have this problem, or is this common with this pump. All my hose connections appear to be pretty good. Maybe the seal is bad on the lid of the prefilter?

I use this pump but I don't use the prefilter part. I've never had this type of problem. You might want to disconnect the prefilter and see if it works. If it does, then at least you know it's something with the prefilter ;)

It was the prefilter alright :D. No more air bubbles in the line. For how cheap those pumps are I'll just get another one if it craps out on me.

I have my setup drawing water from the sump. How did you attach the hose for the inlet and outlet so the are sure to stay in the water. DIY connector or did you buy something?

Ya, I decided to do the same. I have a spare one here but the current one has been running for a year without showing any signs of problems.

My pump is drawing from the sump too. I have nothing holding down the hose; it's a semi rigid hose so it doesn't really move around. If you wanted something even more rigid, you can buy 1/8" acrylic tubing which fits into John Guest fittings (elbows, etc.).

I made my own fitting. the aqualifter pump didnt last me long and i ran into problems with keeping theunit fed with water. I made a fitting with a 1/2 to 1/8" JG fitting. I will snap a pic and post it 2morrow. night

I used a small maxijet to feed my 1502 it works great.....

The AL prefilter is a piece of junk that leaks bad. No surprise here.
