I saw my first C. rhomboidalis at a fish store-Wow what a gorgeous animal. Has anyone out there ever kept one? I've kept a number of fairy wrasses in the past and wonder how this one compares as far as hardiness, disposition and so forth. I 've already found out that they come from relatively deep water and they are pricey. Thanks!

Myles,

I've kept them. All I have to say is ... wait until you see one male do it's courtship display. That is the greatest "wow" experience I've ever had. They are like all fairy wrasses in terms of care and temperament. They are from relatively deep water, yes, but they are expensive because they are confined to very limited distribution in the northern pacific.

All in all, great fish. Get a pair if your wallet permits ;) You really want to see a displaying male. Trust me!

They had two-but only one is left. Will he do ok in a 40g or does he need more swimming room to be content. Thanks, Len
