Has anyone developed an illness or pulmonary problem after scrapping polyps off coral?
Please respond, much appreciated.

Me personally? no.

However, there are a few threads on RC showing seriously nasty things that happen to peoples hands and the like. If theses "polyps" happen to be palythoa polyps, then I'd be weary of what you do, some do contain a very deadly toxin, and although I am unsure if it's related to any sort of direct heart issues, if you're feeling sick right after doing that and have health insurance I'd definately go in for a checkup.

well, they didn't make the darts out of the polyps, but rather used the toxin from them on the darts :D

Of course I could be wrong

Were you messing around with zoanthids? Feel sick or poisoned? Get thee to an emergency room, now. It acts quickly.

Yes the pulmonologist think this may be important. Do you have any specifics or any references? Are you aware of any pulmonary repsonse to Zoanthids

Thank you so much for your response.

Palytoxin is a strong neurotoxin. You could also experience anaphalaxis on exposure to just about anything that isn't you.Either way very serious business.
