Fairy wrasse digging hole and kicking up sand

Anyone else experience this before? My big male C.roseafacia has taken on the habit of digging out a tunnel/cave below my elegance coral. There's a huge pit there now and he continues to excavate at least once a day. He's usually sleeps elsewhere though, so I can't figure out the purpose of his digging.

Thats stange Len. I have one and ive never seen him do that before even when he sleeps he just makes a coccoon type thing to cover himself

maybe he thinks hes a goby...

how do you have fish? the tank doesnt exist?

maybe just a cozy place to hangout when scared....
