I'm tired of picking these off my zoas. I must have pulled about 15-20 of them out on Tuesday. With so many zoas (especially frags) it's hard to spot them sometimes and I've heard that freshwater dips might be the best thing but it's hard since at least 1/3 of my tank is zoas. Picking them off isn't that bad if I knew I wasn't missing any or any possible brood.

Any suggestions as to how to eliminate these? I thought about quarantining all my zoas in a smaller tank to try to get rid of them but I still wouldn't know what to do except pick them off. :?

Thanks! :)

From the Bareefers.org

If you are treating for zoanthid eating nudibranchs, you use iodine/freshwater dip. I use about 10 drops tincture per gallon of pH and temp adjusted DI freshwater for 5 minutes. The freshwater kills the nudibranchs, and the iodine helps kills off the bacteria that might affect your zoas after the stress of the freshwater exposure. I've even used iodine/tapwater for zoa nudi dip.

So, what am I supposed to do if the nudis aren't currently on the zoas but, let's say, in my live rock? :? Freshwater dip all of the LR? Seems like a dangerous idea.

I would let the zoas recover a bit, and repeat every week or so until you feel like you have the nudis eliminated.
