My torch coral is getting very big for my 46gal reef tank and has developed several fairly long sweepers. I have moved my bubble to the other side of the tank, moved a leather that was getting stung and now a large orange monti is within stinging range.

I can't really move the monti due to the large rock it is attached to, and there really isn't any other good place for the torch, so......

What would you do? Frag it, which I could b/c it has two main branches, and sell part back to lfs, or frag the orange monti? Both corals are really nice looking so I hate to alter them, but at the growth rates they will very soon encounter one another.

Also is there any way to tame down the sweeper tentacles? Thanks in advance for your input

ehhh...

IMO I would just direct a little more current over the area, not enought to damage the coral tissue against the skeleton, and wait for the goo to disipate.

I've never fragged a sick coral and saved it.
