I am debating whether or not to get a pinpoint marine salinity monitor since I have so many different systems to check.

I am just wondering if it's worth getting the monitor or if it needs constant recalibration before each use after I have stored it for a week or so.

Thanks

Quality salinity does not need much calibration, maybe 3 month or so, if not longer. You need to make sure you clean off the electrode after you are ready to store it, that's all.

the pinpoint salinity monitor is a fine tool.

i have mine sitting out near the sump on a shelf with the probe
hanging dry. when i wish to use it i dip it in and let the temp
equalize.. to get a good reading.

when i wish to calibrate it, i dump in two bottles of 53.0ms solution
in a clean plastic cup and dip it in there. the little screw by the battery
only needs the most minor of turns to make it smack on.

i have cleaned it once or twice since i have owned it for the last
few months.. fresh water and a toothbrush, very lightly..

worth every penny.. but without that calibration fluid handy it could
get out of hand.

note, i reused the solution too. i pour it back into the small bottles
and save for next month.

good buy. get their ph and wireless temp also. nice gear.

OK I'll grab it. I just wanted to make sure that it didn't need constant recal every time I whipped it out to use it.
