I currently have a 55 gallon tank with a Yellow Tang. I'm really a huge fan of the Surgeonfish and would like to keep more than one.

I'm in the process of setting up a 165G tank and was wondering if this was big enough that I could keep more than one?

I'd be happy if I could add a Purple Tang to the tank (along with the Yellow I already have). I'd be ecstatic if I could keep more than two.

Other inhabitants are a Maroon Clown, Falco's Hawkfish, Yellow Watchman Gobie, Bi-Color Blennie, Pistol Shrimp, Brittle Star, Snails & Hermits.

What are your thoughts?

Adding a purple to the yellow is a bad idea. They will fight, most likely. They have the same genus, body style, and diet. You could add a Paracanthurus hepatus (blue, pallate, regal) and they should do fine together. They primarily eat meat not veggies. For some good tang info see http://www.wetwebmedia.com I don't think that small of a tank could keep a shoal of any tang.
