This morning I woke up and all my fish had died. My snails and crabs are fine, corals are ok, but the fish died. Some of my corals dont look to good, but they are alive. I have taken them out and put them in a fuge. Does anyone know what could have happened? And I have a lawnmower blenny that seems to be ok.

What fish died, and in what condition did you find them in? What is your setup, and did you do anything different earlier this week? Unfortunately, there is a lot of possibilities and the probability is we won't find the definite cause. But we might narrow down the possibilities with more info.

I had a yellow tank, chromis, foxface, and juvenille imperator. last night they were all fine when i went to bed, and this morning they were all upside down dead in the tank. it looked like they lost some color in the deaths. i added some rocks to a fuge, but thats all I did. all water parameters seem fine too. nothing was done out of the ordinary either.

The rocks may have been tainted with some toxin, but that's going to be hard to determine. I really can't think of what else would cause such acute deaths.

Some large water change definitely is advisable. You may also want to remove the newly added rock just in case.

Ok. thanks. I also have a sand sifting star and it is ok along w/ a cucumber and they both seem fine too. I have no idea what is going on, which is a little upsetting as im sure anyone would be too.

Last month I woke up to find the same situation you did. I lost all fish save for a three dollar damsel. Everything else was fine. I found out it was marine velvet. Basically I had to overhaul the tank. It sucked.
