AquaController Jr. Base Unit & Direct Connect 8 Combo Package
Is anyone using one of these and what do you think of it. Can I plug in 2 250watt metal halide ballast to it.Or is it to much power draw.
the DC8 has a max limit of 15 amps, with any one plug maxing out at 6amps.
Two 250w ballasts will pull a little over 4amps, so yeah you'll be fine, if you're that worried about the start up pull as well you could always split them onto separate plugs, more a PITA and you lose a plug, but it's what those with 400w bulbs need to do.
Ive had mine for just over three months now and like it. I bought it for temp. stability and couldnt be happier. I have two icecap 250s, an ice cap 440, two 250w heaters, a single 7" fan and my sequence barracuda plugged into it.
