Just wait until it is cool, remove it, and wipe it with some damp cloth. If your tap water is hard, then use RO water. When it is dried, screw it back in.

You may want to get a glass shield if there are considerable splashing to the bulb. Some bulbs are cracked due to splashing.

You can also use rubbing alcohol to clean them. Just make sure they are totally dry before firing them up again.

If the crusty, hard mineral on it, use vinegar, then wipe it clean with tap water.
