Majano? Do I get the syringe of death out?

To kalk paste? Or not to kalk paste...that is the question. Had this unknown critter pop up in the nano. It is dime sized, eats brine and retracts. It's a beautiful neon green. I'm thinking its a majano, but I've never seen one so brilliant green colored. It's purty, but if it's going to take over...

For scale in the pic, it's next to some zoas and palys. Any ID ideas?

I had a break out of majano in my 29g and I'm not sure if that is what u have there or not. mine had far shorter tents than that pic and most i have seen r short. one things for sure though, keep a close eye on it for a little while, if it is majano you might get an unwelcomed surprise. when mine decided to reproduce, it dropped starts that just floated out to other rock and took off, I had a heck of a time getting rid of them once they got in behind the rockwork. Kalk paste did the trick on them but whew....

Looks very different to the majano I once had in my old tank as well, which had stubbier, almost BTA style tentacles. Although maybe the tentacles change as they grow, or with current, feeding etc. :?

The tenticles are always that attenuated and pointy even when it is retracted, which is why I hesitate to nuke it out of turn :|

ewww, yeah that does look like what I have. I can't coax it to move as it is wedged in a hole in that rock and I can't remove the rock from the tank. (sigh) well, barring any other opinions I guess I'll have to deal with it harshly.
