Beware of GARF!

I guess I had to find out for myself despite warnings from other reefers. They ARE rip-off artists. Especially with their SPS corals.

The more details the better, if you have photos of the corals you received post them as well. That way we can make an informed decision.

The shipping was horrible. 3 and 4 frags to a bag all rolling around together with some separated from their plugs. Half were dead the next day from tissue damage. If you do buy from this place make sure you see a picture of them. On the phone I was told, "the colors are unbelievable." The only sps that was worth anything was a purple Monti digi, unfortunately that died from poor shipping. All the others were a wonderful shade of brown....just what I wanted to put in my display tank. To top it all off they overcharged me $10. So, I've tried to contact them for the $10 refund, but got no response. The other $180 is my fault and I'll chalk it up as a loss. Just beware of this place.

an afterthought.....even if I grew these corals out and fragged them; no one would buy them on the color alone....or lack thereof. Just thinking of the space they'd take up in my frag tanks....I'd be loosing money.

Well SPS can stress out and lose coloring during shipping, I'd wait a while to see exactly what happens with them. But yeah putting multiple corals in the same bag seems like a bone head maneuver.

GARF's been around forever, and are notorius for sending small sps frags, pencil eraser sized at times. Bagging multiple frags together surprises me from a company thats been around so long.

The frags were not bad in size, the problem was the quality of the frags and the way they were shipped. I know garf has been around for some time, you'd think they'd get the shipping right. Also, not to return a phone call or email regarding the overcharge is extremely poor business ethics, in my opinion.

What really pissed me off was when I opened one of the bags and saw 3 frags that have been separated from the plugs (which they make homemade and are the size of tanks) all at the bottom. Can you imagine what went on during shipping? Also, I was told on the phone that "the frags have grown down on the plugs." One of nine was actually grown onto the plug. The others were just glued which probably explains why they fell off so easily.

Anyway, as I said before, I blame no one but myself for being an idiot and not taking the advice of others.
